Cookout Cupcakes

I ran across this blog post earlier this week and was dead set on bringing these goodies to my Labor Day cookout.  I used Dorie’s Cocoa Buttermilk Chocolate Cake recipe which was FANTASTIC! for the cupcake base.  They were tender, airy, flavorful, and perfectly domed.

Supplies
Cupcakes
Chocolate Frosting
Orange Sprinkles
Dots
Mike ‘n Ike Candies
White writing icing
toothpicks

For the hot dogs, use red Mike n Ike candies and dot with chocolate frosting for the grill marks.
For the kabobs, cut Dots candies into thirds and thread the slices onto toothpicks.
